LA   VOZ   DE   LA    POESÍA 

Se me quiebra la voz

cuando mi corazón  llora,

el sentimiento aflora 

las lágrimas resbalan.

Los ojos aprieto

carraspeo ligero,

las palabras mudas 

mudo el pensamiento.

Aspiro en el aire

las ideas muertas,

la voz  extenuada

la poesía callada.

Respiro y exhalo

el esfuerzo cede,

por fín salen notas

timbrando mis cuerdas.

The Voice of the Poetry

My voice breaks

when my heart cries,

feelings surface,

tears flow.

I squeeze my eyes shut,

I clear my throat lightly,

the silent words

silence my thoughts.

I breathe in the air

the dead ideas,

my exhausted voice,

the silent poetry.

I breathe in and out,

the effort gives way,

finally notes come out,

ringing my strings.
